The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 it is no merriment. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
