The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
