۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
