Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive 37 and who respond to [the call of] their Sustainer and are constant in prayer; and whose rule [in all matters of common concern] is consultation among themselves; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 The recompense for evil will be equivalent to the deed. He who pardons (the evil done to him) and reforms himself, will receive his reward from God. God certainly does not love the unjust. 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
