▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
