The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
