In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU human being! 1 By the Wise Koran, 2 That you are indeed one of those sent 3 on a straight path; 4 It is a Revelation sent down by (Him), the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 5 so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and so they are unaware. 6 Undoubtedly, it (their disbelief) has proved true for most of them, so they will not believe. 7 Behold, around their necks We have put shackles, reaching up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up; 8 And We shall raise a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and cover them over so that they will not be able to see. 9 Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not, it is alike for them, for they believe not. 10 You can warn only those who would follow the Reminder and fear the Gracious God, unseen. Give them the good news of forgiveness and a noble reward. 11 It is We who bring the dead to life and records the deeds of human beings and their consequences (of continual effects). We keep everything recorded in an illustrious Book. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
