۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
