Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
