Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
