The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a grievous day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
