Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
