The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
