The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
