The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
