The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
