The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
