The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
