Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
