The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
