The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
