The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
