Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
