The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 Allah – none is worthy of worship, except Him, He is Alive (eternally, on His own) and the Upholder (keeps others established). 2 He hath revealed unto thee the Book with truth confirming that which went before it; and He sent down the Taurat and Injil. 3 in the past as guidance for mankind; He has [also] sent down the Standard by which to discern the true from the false. Surely those who deny God's signs will suffer severe punishment. God is mighty and capable of retribution. 4 Nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from God. 5 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise 6 It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding. 7 Our Lord! suffer not our hearts to deviate after that Thou hast guided us, and bestow on us from Thine presence mercy. Verily Thou! Thou art the Bestower! 8 Lord, it is certain that one day You will gather all the people together. God does not break His promise." 9
