Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
