Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
