The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
