Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In an elevated garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
