The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 “And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?” 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
