Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
