The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
