The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. 2 Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: 8 (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. 9 for we fear from our Lord a frowning day, inauspicious. 10 So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy, 11 and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
