Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 and even demanded that he give up his guests [to them]: whereupon We deprived them of their sight [and thus told them, as it were]: "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings. 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
