The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
