Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
