Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known extent. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
